lyrics

Rolling clouds block out the pale sunlight
Ghosts of trees and abandoned railroads haunt my mind
I ain't quite sure just what it is I'm looking for
I've worn out my shoes tryna find my lost bound soul
I can't seem to settle in one place
These city streets, well they all just look the same
In 15 years these streetlights never pointed home
cause I buried my heart down along a Tennessee road

Well maybe we shouldn't know exactly where we're gonna go
And maybe we should go in blind
I'm staring at these photographs, expecting more
and at this rate, I might just lose my mind
Cause there's this image of how my life's supposed to be
That's still developing
And even if it's blurred, I'll still dream big
And live in those dreams

On my hundredth mile I met the ghost of a vagabond man
The kind that shines his shoes to compensate tobacco stained hands
And he told me "child, if there's one thing I regret
It's not hopping the train til there wasn't much of a journey left"

Well maybe we shouldn't know exactly where we're gonna go
and maybe we should go in blind
I've tried to replicate a life once lived before
But the picture's been retouched a thousand times
And now this image of how my life's supposed to be
Is still developing
And even if it's blurred, that image still remains clear in my memory
yeah, even if it's blurred I'll still dream big and live in those dreams
